Next stop….the Arctic!!
Cycling in Sweden is great. From Karlskrona to Kalmar, made mistake here of not bothering to cycle 3km into town to eat, the 3km back to campsite… so only had a kebab which didnt give anywhere near enough energy for the next day.
However yesterday in Monstelas (?) he had achoice of Thai restaurant or a little cafe, neither looked too hopeful from outside, but in the cafe the owner showed him into another room with a fantastic homecookedbuffet set out. Of course Keith filled up!!, soup, salad bar, main meal cakes etc and then overdid it with a huge coffee.
Last night in a bus shelter in Gamleby, drawn towards a bar and a Hungarian chap gave Keith 20 kroner for his brekki, then proceeded to raid the kitchen run by a Greek, Costas, and filled him a large pail of food. Josef the Hungarian also wanted K to try out his bike around the town square, all watched with amusement by the Swedish bouncer.
Heading north as the weather forcast till next Tues is sunny, and there seems to be enough towns to get food as long as he remembers to pick up extras as well as eat as much as possible while in the cafe.
Traffic still light and the daylight………good.
