The fool calls it a day…
I’ve always been aware that this venture was on a knife edge, with success or failure but a moment away. In retrospect, failure was a grinding inevitability, from the moment I thought “I’ll just eat when I feel I need to”. The end result of that strategy was an inability to turn the pedals enough to cover the miles required. I cannot eat fast enough to build up reserves and eating takes time away from turning the pedals.
I did manage 20% of the distance in 20% of the time within world record time. Pity about those kebabs and pizza…
As for success and failure, it’s a matter of perspective. I am hugely pleased and proud to have spotted the possibility and gone for it. My gratitude to all those who helped and supported knows no bounds and my only concern is that I may have let you all down. I will gladly cycle with any of you in future, however, I will not be trying this again…
We are all amazing beings capable of amazing things!
Hey you cant stop till end September, I’ve filled up my summer so I dont get bored…………XxXx
